Step 1: Start Your Audiobook Project

In the Dashboard, click the '+Create' button or the '+New Audiobook' option to begin.

Step 2: Select Your Content Source

You can choose from several options to provide the text for your audiobook:

  • Import a blog post.

  • Upload a Word document, Google Doc, or PDF.

  • Use a saved draft already stored in the app.

  • Write the content from scratch.

For this tutorial, we’ll use a previously saved draft.

Step 3: Edit in the Audiobook Editor

Once you’ve selected your content, it will open in the audiobook editor. Here’s what to do next:

Verify the Speaker and Language

  • By default, the editor assigns Jenny, an American speaker.

  • Ensure that the speaker and language match your text's requirements. You can select from the following languages:

    • Chinese

    • English (Australia, Canada, UK, US)

    • French (Canada, France)

    • German

    • Italian

    • Japanese

    • Korean

    • Norwegian

    • Portuguese (Brazil)

    • Spanish (Mexico, Spain)

    • Turkish

For this audiobook, we’ll select an English speaker with a British accent.

Choose and Preview Voices

Options for British English include Libby and Mia.

Select one and click 'Preview' to hear a sample of the voice reading a preset text. Compare both voices by repeating the process with the other option.

In this example, we’ll select Mia as the speaker. 'Add Speaker' button.

Set the Default Speaker

  1. Click the 'Add Speaker' button to add Mia.

  2. Open Mia’s menu (three dots) and choose 'Set as main speaker'.

  3. Confirm that Mia has replaced the default speaker (Jenny), then remove the default speaker if it’s no longer needed.

Notice that 'Mia' has replaced the default's speaker. Let's remove the default speaker as well.

Make sure to click 'Save' to preserve your changes.

Step 4: Publish Your Audiobook

Once you’re satisfied with your voice selection, you’re ready to publish your audiobook.

  1. Click the 'Publish Audiobook' button.

  2. Under the button, you’ll see:

    • Available Credits: The number of credits remaining in your account.

    • Estimated Cost: The number of credits needed for this audiobook. One credit typically equals one character.

If everything looks good, confirm the publication.

Confirmation

You’ll receive a confirmation message...

... and shortly after, an email will notify you that your audiobook is ready.

Step 5: Access and Share Your Audiobook

After receiving the email, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Projects section >> Audiobooks.

  2. Locate your newly generated audiobook.

3. Hover over the thumbnail and open the menu for sharing options.

Preview and Playback

You can preview your audiobook using the built-in playback editor to ensure it sounds as expected. Simply click the Preview option to listen.

By following these steps, you’ll create and publish an audiobook seamlessly. Enjoy the process and share your audiobook with your audience!
