In this tutorial you are going to learn how to use Niche Finder to discover profitable book niches based on your interests, experience or expertise.

If you know the general subject you'd like to write about but aren't sure which niche has the best potential, Niche Finder is the ideal place to start.

By answering a few simple questions, BookSignal generates a list of niche ideas, complete with book concepts and a recommendation to help you decide which topics are worth exploring further.

Before You Begin

Before using Niche Finder, think about:

  • The subject or area you'd like to write about.

  • Who your ideal reader is (optional).

  • The type of book you want to create (optional).

Don't worry if you don't have all the answers. BookSignal can still generate suggestions based on the information you provide.

What Does Niche Finder Do?

Niche Finder helps you narrow a broad subject into specific book niches with publishing potential.

For each suggestion, BookSignal provides:

  • A recommendation (GO, MAYBE or SKIP)

  • Estimated search volume

  • A brief market summary

  • Several example book ideas

When Should I Use It?

Use Niche Finder when you have a general topic in mind but need help identifying the most promising niche before investing time researching or writing your book.

Step 1 – Open Niche Finder

From the BookSignal dashboard, click Niche Finder from the left-hand menu.

Step 2 – Answer the Questions

Niche Finder asks up to three simple questions:

  • What would you like to write about?

  • Who is your ideal reader? (Optional)

  • What type of book do you have in mind? (Optional)

Provide as much information as you'd like. The more context you give, the more tailored the suggestions will be.

Step 3 – Wait While BookSignal Analyses Your Answers

Once you've answered the questions, BookSignal analyzes your responses and searches for publishing opportunities.

The analysis normally takes only a few seconds.


Step 4 – Review the Suggested Niches

BookSignal generates up to 10 niche suggestions.

Each suggestion includes:

  • A recommendation label

  • Estimated monthly search volume

  • A short market summary

  • Example book ideas

Continue scrolling to review the remaining suggestions.

Understanding the Recommendations

BookSignal classifies each niche using one of three recommendations:

GO

A strong opportunity that is worth investigating further.

MAYBE

A niche with potential that may require additional research before making a decision.

SKIP

A topic with lower potential based on the current analysis.

These recommendations help you quickly focus on the most promising opportunities.

Step 5 – Validate Your Chosen Niche

Once you've found a niche you'd like to explore, click Learn More & Validate in Topic Explorer.

BookSignal automatically opens Topic Explorer and transfers your selected niche for a more detailed market analysis.
